Popular Golf Courses and Clubs in Arizona

An accomplished entrepreneur in Arizona, Klaus Axen serves as the CEO of three successful companies: Innovative Senior Living, Inc., Ahwooga online marketplace for motor vehicle parts, and Fundreasy, a website that helps small nonprofits in Tucson with their fundraising. When he’s not busy leading his businesses, Klaus Axen enjoys golfing.

When many individuals think about top golf courses, they think about courses in Arizona. Below are a few examples:

- Forest Highlands Golf Club: The Canyon course at Forest Highlands Golf Club was designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf in 1988 as one of two courses at the club. It was the venue of the 2006 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship and features a tree-lined, bluegrass fairway dotted with canyons and streams.

- Troon North Golf Club: A semi-private club, Troon North sets many standards for the desert golf experience. The club is located in the Sonoran Desert and features a unique blend of desert ambiance and challenging ravines and foothills. Its Pinnacle and Monument courses are the most popular, with many golfers placing them at the top of their must-play lists.

- Boulders Golf Club: Established in 1985, Boulders is a world-renowned spa, tennis, and golf resort. Over the years, it has earned numerous awards and was ranked as the #1 Golf Resort in the Southwest in 2005 and 2006. Designed by Jay Morrish, Boulders features a tight golf course that winds through tranquil desert scenery.

Teens Receive Help in the Midst of Homelessness

A Tucson entrepreneur, Klaus Axen serves as the CEO of Innovative Senior Living. In addition, he owns crowdfunding site Fundreasy.com. Klaus Axen supports a number of charitable organizations including Youth on Their Own.

Since 1986, Youth on Their Own has provided a support network to Pima County, Arizona, teens who are homeless. The organization works to equip these teens with the resources they need to graduate from high school. Statistically, Arizona has the fifth-highest occurrence of youth homelessness in the United States. Without help, teens who are homeless are unlikely to graduate from high school and often find themselves living in poverty during adulthood.

In an effort to address these concerns, Youth on Their Own provides a number of services to teens who are facing homelessness. In addition to offering a monthly stipend based on school grades, the organization helps provide for basic needs, transportation, and guidance services, such as housing assistance, counseling, health care, and mentoring.

Each spring, Youth on Their Own hosts a fundraiser to help fund these services. The organization’s 2017 fundraiser will take the form of a luncheon where teens who have been helped by the organization can share inspiring stories of success in the midst of adversity. The event will take place at the Tucson Marriott University Park on Thursday, March 30.
