The Villas at La Canada - Assisted Living in a Homelike Environment

After representing clients for eight years as an attorney at both a large law firm and his own practice, Klaus Axen began working on his own business ventures. Since 2003, he has served as CEO of Innovative Senior Living, Inc., where he leads the company in the development of upgraded assisted living communities for senior citizens. Klaus Axen’s first development for the company was The Villas at La Canada.

Located in Tucson, Arizona, The Villas at La Canada provides a complete range of assisted living and memory care to its residents. At the most basic level, residents are provided with assistance in meal preparation, household chores, and routine activities. With a ratio of two caregivers for every 10 residents, The Villas is also equipped to provide more directed assistance to those in need of specialized care, including residents with Alzheimer’s or who need short-term hospice care. The staff at The Villas has received training from the Alzheimer’s Association in the provision of memory care. Additionally, The Villas includes customized memory care homes, where residents have access to special programs and activities designed to assist those with memory issues.

The amenities at The Villas ensure that residents receive comfortable care in a home environment. Residents at The Villas live in furnished 6300 square foot homes, which include individual 325-square foot private suites (with private bathrooms) that each resident may personalize. The Villas offers home-cooked meals, which residents may enjoy together in a group setting or privately with family and friends. Residents may also enjoy the beautiful grounds, which contain walking paths, a gazebo, and a waterfall. There are also entertainment spaces, such as a library, game room, fitness center, and a room for arts and crafts, and weekly and monthly activities are organized for residents. Internet access, cable television, and telephone hookups are also available.
